Academic Clinical Chemist / Laboratory Director - Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) seeks an outstanding clinical pathologist with experience in clinical chemistry at the level of Assistant, Associate or Attending Pathologist. MSK is one of the world’s premier cancer centers, committed to exceptional patient care and leading-edge research. The clinical chemistry service is one of the largest units in the United States dedicated to the care of cancer patients. Laboratory testing is harmonized across ten sites within Manhattan, New Jersey, Westchester and Long Island and supported by 6 faculty, 1 manager, 1 assistant manager, 5 supervisors and 45 technologists. Experience in informatics, mass spectrometry, immunoassays, and point of care testing is desirable.
Major responsibilities include director/assistant director for point of care, core laboratories or specialty areas, protein electrophoresis and immunofixation sign out and pager coverage. Candidates should be comfortable teaching pathology residents, clinical fellows, laboratory technologists and supervisors.
An ideal candidate will have experience in maintaining an academically productive research program supported by extramural or industry grant funding and validating new assays for clinical and cancer biomarkers. Applicants must have an MD or MD/PhD and be board-eligible or board certified by the American Board of Pathology in CP or AP/CP. Applicants must be eligible to practice medicine and obtain appropriate Certificates of Qualification in New York State.
Pay Range: $180,000 - $507,000
