Clinical Laboratory Postdoctoral Position - University of Florida
Applications for the May 2026 Clinical Laboratory Postdoctoral position at the University of Florida will be accepted beginning March 16, 2026.
The program is designed to provide experience in laboratory medicine, with exposure to high-volume automated testing, specialized laboratories, clinical consultation, and academic scholarship. Clinical Training Environment
The postdoc will train in an academic laboratory with exposure to:
• General clinical chemistry
• Endocrinology
• Immunology
• Toxicology and therapeutic drug monitoring
• Infectious disease serology
In addition, the postdoc will receive hands-on training on projects in method development, validation, and troubleshooting.
Laboratory Medicine & Health System Exposure
The clinical chemistry service provides oversight across multiple testing environments, including:
• Core hospital laboratories
• Affiliated outpatient and physician practice laboratories
• Send-out and reference testing utilization
The postdoc will be actively involved in test utilization management, quality improvement initiatives, and potentially interdisciplinary collaboration with clinicians, laboratory operations, informatics, and billing teams.
Research, Education, and Scholarly Activity
The program offers potential access to:
• Machine learning projects
• Clinical and laboratory informatics projects
• Opportunities for educational scholarship and teaching
• Participation in institutional and departmental committees
Scholarly activity is strongly encouraged and supported throughout the postdoctoral year.
Program Outcomes
Upon completion of the program, the postdoc will have in-depth training in clinical laboratory medicine and make them competitive for ComACC fellowships
