Assistant/Associate Medical Director of Special Chemistry - Cleveland Clinic

The Division of Laboratory Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic is recruiting a full-time academic professional (MD, DO, or PhD with clinical certification) with subspecialty expertise in Clinical Biochemistry to serve as the Assistant/Associate Director of Special Chemistry (title will be commensurate with experience). Specialty training or experience in informatics/artificial intelligence and/or mass spectrometry is desirable. The position requires oversight of clinical laboratory operations including development of new tests, process improvements, contribution to lab stewardship best practices, active participation in hospital committees, and resident and medical school teaching. The candidate will also be expected to work collaboratively with all Cleveland Clinic North America locations to provide input and guidance. The successful candidate will join a group of five full-time subspecialty medical directors and two clinical development scientists.
Additional responsibilities will be commensurate with training, experience, and academic interest, including participation in translational or clinical research. Early to mid-career individuals are especially encouraged to apply.
The Clinical Biochemistry section provides state-of-the-art diagnostic and consultative services for the Cleveland Clinic Health System (CCHS) and is the central laboratory in Northeast Ohio. $166,500 - $295,000 / Year
The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires and is for a 100%, full-time employment (FTE). A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be consistent with fair market value and determined after taking various factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set, % of FTE and board certification. This is not inclusive of the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package, which includes among other benefits, healthcare/dental/vision, and retirement.
