Clinical Microbiology – Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a faculty position in the Academic Clinician Track (non-tenure) at either the Associate Professor or Assistant Professor rank.

Responsibilities include a combination of clinical care and educational duties. Teaching responsibilities will be expected with residents, fellows and medical students. The successful applicant will have experience in the general field of clinical microbiology and one or more of its subspecialties. The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise in molecular diagnostics and specifically NGS technology for clinical diagnostics and metagenomics.

Applicants must have an MD or PhD or MD/PhD degree. Applicants must be board certified in clinical pathology (or AP/CP) and subspecialty certification by the American Board of Pathology (or eligible) or American Board of Medical Microbiology for MD candidates, and for PhD candidates, board certification by the American Board of Medical Microbiology (or eligible).

Assistant Professor
