Clinical Microbiology and Microbiome Research Position - University of Vermont

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at the University of Vermont (UVM) seeks a pathologist with expertise in clinical microbiology and microbiome research. This is a full-time position with a faculty appointment on the Clinical Scholar Pathway (non-tenure) at the Assistant Professor rank. The successful candidate will work in the Division of Laboratory Medicine at the University of Vermont Medical Center as part of the UVM Health Network. The applicant must be a physician (M.D. or D.O.) who is board certified in Clinical Pathology and board eligible/certified in Medical Microbiology. The candidate should be an enthusiastic teacher who will provide education to medical students, residents, infectious disease fellows and clinicians. The candidate, who should have experience in clinical trial development and metagenomic analysis, will be expected to develop a research program in global infectious disease prevention and treatment with a focus in microbiota-targeted therapeutics.
