Academic Clinical Chemist - University of Rochester Medical Center

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry is seeking candidates for an Assistant Professor with the skills and interest to develop a strong academic career focused on clinical chemistry. The position is on academic clinician track and will serve the expanding clinical and academic clinical chemistry division.

The successful candidate will serve as Associate Director of Clinical Chemistry. Clinical responsibilities include oversight of the core chemistry laboratory for outpatient testing, clinical test interpretation, consultation with physicians and health care providers, and also to provide strategic guidance for the clinical chemistry laboratory to keep the lab on the cutting edge to serve patient needs.

Candidates must have an MD and/or a PhD and additional fellowship training in clinical chemistry. The position will have an academic component which may include laboratory-based basic or translational research, or clinical research. Teaching responsibilities may include residents, fellows, medical and graduate students as well as medical technologists.
